Pop diva Mariah Carey was among the top searched phrases in a number of Korean portal sites and other social media on Thursday as she performed for the first time in 11 years in Seoul on Wednesday.

Posts were bombarded with criticism as her poor performance at the Elusive Chanteuse Show left fans angry and disappointed.

Most of fans who went to see the diva left the concert in utter disappointment and anger, criticizing the diva's insincere attitude.

One person wrote, "I realized that I can sing as well as Mariah Carey."

The concert started 20 minutes after the scheduled time. When opening act "Fantasy" began, fans shouted in excitement. But it did not take long before the excitement turned into disappointment as Carey was unable to properly sing her hit songs such as "Emotion" and "My All," missing her signature high notes.

The show was part of Carey's Asian tour, following the release of her 14th album. Her Tokyo concert also fell short of fans' expectations.

Some disappointed fans demanded refund of their tickets. A VIP ticket cost W198,000 and the cheapest ticket W66,000 (US$1=W1,075).
