The ASEAN-Korea Centre

The ASEAN-Korea Centre will host the annual “ASEAN Week 2024″ event from Nov. 5 to 8 in Seoul and Jeju Island. “This year, the event will feature a more diverse program to celebrate the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Korea relations,” the centre said on Nov. 1.

The “International Conference on ASEAN-Korea Partnership 2024,” scheduled for Nov. 7, will bring senior officials from ASEAN and South Korea, the ASEAN Secretariat, international organizations, and key figures from think tanks, academia, and media together to reflect on the 35 years of ASEAN-Korea relations.

The “Unveiling Ceremony of Jeju Olle Trail 8 Route : ASEAN-Korea Olle” will take place on Nov. 8 near the AKC’s Jeju ASEAN Hall in the Jeju International Peace Center. The entire 20km stretch of the Jeju Olle Trail Route 8 will be officially named as “Jeju Olle Trail 8 Route: ASEAN-Korea Olle.” ASEAN-Korea Centre Secretary General Kim Jae-shin, Jeju Governor Oh Young-hoon, Jeju Olleh Foundation Chairperson Suh Myung Sook, and ambassadors from the ten ASEAN member countries will attend the ceremony. “The Trail aims to introduce Korea’s natural tourism resources to ASEAN, and ASEAN countries to Koreans,” the centre explained.

Prior to these events, the “Launching Seminar of the Korean ESG Guidebook” will be held on Nov. 5 at the Korea Press Center in Seoul. ESG stakeholders from the private and public sectors will gather to celebrate the launch of the Korean edition of the ESG Guidebook for Korea and ASEAN member countries. Invited speakers will share insights on the guidebook and discuss ESG trends and best practices in Korea and ASEAN.

On the same day, the “ASEAN-Korea Youth Summit” will gather 53 youth delegates from ASEAN and Korea. Together, they will draft a Chair’s Statement outlining ways to enhance ASEAN-Korea relations from a youth perspective.
