The burial mounds of King Injong, the 12th king of the Chosun Dynasty, and his consort Queen Inseong, opens to the public on Friday.

Known as Hyoreung, the tombs in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province are the only ones of all 40 royal tombs on the UNESCO World Heritage List that had remained closed to the public because they sit on a breeding farm for dairy cows.

Invited guests look around royal tombs in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province on Thursday, a day ahead of their public opening.

But now a new path leading to the royal tombs has been laid to give visitors easy access to the area.
