Sporadic showers will interrupt a fresh heat wave on Friday as heavy rains subside.
While morning lows hovered between 22 to 25 degrees Celsius, the Korea Meteorological Administration said temperatures will rise sharply on Friday afternoon to 28 to 32 degrees.
Metropolitan and coastal regions will experience tropical nights when the temperature does not fall below 25 degrees.
The mercury will rise up to 32 degrees across the country until rain returns Sunday beginning in northeastern Gangwon Province and Jeju Island.
