Chinese President Xi Jinping will be accompanied by his wife Peng Liyuan during his two-day visit to Korea starting Thursday.
As President Park Geun-hye is single, there was speculation that the Chinese first lady might not be coming, a government official said, but Seoul asked for her to come anyway.
Peng will be chaperoned by Cho Yoon-sun, the senior presidential secretary for political affairs.
