Police applied for an arrest warrant on Wednesday for a man who allegedly cloned actress Jeon Ji-hyun's mobile phone so her agency could keep tabs on her.

Seoul Metropolitan Police said the man, identified as Kim (39), was paid W6.4 million (US$1=W1,372) in November 2007 by Sidus HQ for cloning the actress' SIM card, which provides the agency with access to the record of text messages sent or received.

Police plan to summon the Sidus HQ's CEO Jung Hoon-tak (41) on Thursday to question him whether he gave the order.
