Min-ho of boy band SHINee will enlist in the Marines for his mandatory military service next month.
The singer's agency SM Entertainment said Thursday he applied to join the Marines in late January and received a letter of acceptance that morning. "He will start his 21-month military service by entering a boot camp in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province on April 15," it added.
Min-ho will be the third member of the four-man group to begin mandatory military service following Onew in December last year and Key early this month. The youngest member, Tae-min, will keep working solo.
Min-ho recently finished shooting a film in which he plays a leading role. It is expected to hit cinemas in the second half of this year.
Prior to his enlistment, he will release his first solo single on March 28 and meet with his fans for a farewell two days later.
