Mountaineer Kim Chang-ho has become the first Korean and only the 17th person in the world to climb all 14 peaks of the Himalayas over 8,000 m without oxygen tanks.
Kim (44)'s team of climbers, which also included Koreans Seo Sung-ho (33) and Seok Sang-myung (55), started their expedition in India's Bay of Bengal before going up the Ganges River by kayak for five days until they reached Kolkata.
They then went across the Indian and Nepalese plains until they reached the outer fringes of the Himalayas.
They bicycled 893 km and walked another 162 km up to the base camp on the way up to Mt. Everest, where they began their climb.
