SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, who is currently on a business trip to the United States, held meetings with big tech CEOs.
Chairman Chey shared photos of himself with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on his Instagram account on June 27. “I see unprecedented opportunities here where the heartbeat of the AI wave is beating. This is undoubtedly a historic time for everyone—dive right in or be left behind forever,” he wrote in the caption.
“I’ve been in San Francisco and Seattle, meeting tech leaders every day. The reception has been so warm and engaging that I don’t even feel jetlagged—I’m energized,” he added. Chey left for the U.S. on June 22, accompanied by SK Hynix and SK Telecom executives, to explore business opportunities in AI and semiconductor markets and foster collaboration with big tech companies.
SK Group will hold its annual business strategy meeting on June 28-29, attended by all of the group’s key CEOs. The executives will embark on a two-day marathon of meetings to reassess and reshape the group’s business roadmap. Although Chey will still be traveling, he plans to participate in the meetings via video.
