Pre-orders for Samsung's latest "phablet" in its Galaxy Note series exceeded 1 million units, the electronics giant said on Tuesday.

Samsung accepted pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10 Plus for 11 days from Aug. 9 after unveiling them on Aug. 7.

Samsung estimates the total pre-orders at some 1.3 million units -- more than double the figure of approximately 600,000 for their predecessor last year, and the highest for any Galaxy series.

Two-thirds of purchasers chose the Note 10 Plus with a 6.8-inch screen, over the Note 10 with a 6.3-inch screen.
