Korea National Oil Corp. said on Monday that it has acquired a 23.7 percent stake in U.S.-based Anadarko Petroleum Corp's interest in the Eagle Ford Shale of Texas.

KNOC is entitled to 6,600 barrels of crude oil per day under the US$1.55 billion deal, and its daily share is expected to rise to as much as 26,000 barrels by the end of this year as Anadarko has been boosting production from the field recently.
