Jinro held the top position in the global distilled liquor market for the eighth consecutive year.
According to the British liquor magazine Drinks International on Monday, Jinro successfully maintained its top position since 2001 as its sales volume of soju reached 75.99 million boxes (1 box=9L), an 8.8 percent increase from the previous year.
Russian vodka brand Smirnoff ranked second with 25.7 million boxes. In third place was Brazilian brand Pirassununga 51 which sold 21.98 million boxes. As for the other Korean soju brands, C1 Soju of Daesun Distilling ranked 11th.
