More Bribes Confirmed in Kim Hong-gul Case

Seoul District Prosecutors' Office said Monday that jailed businessman Choi Kyu-sun received W150 million from Seongjon Construction in March 2001, of which he gave at least W100 million to president Kim Dae-jung's third son, Kim Hong-gul, in return for using his influence to win the company Ministry of National Defense and other government contracts. The prosecution said Kim used a borrowed name account to hide the money and so an additional charge of tax evasion may be leveled.

Prosecutors commented that Son Byung-moon SC's chairman said he lent W400 million to Kim, which was paid back by Choi.
