Renowned Florist to Give Design Courses

The Inter-Continental Hotel in Seoul will open courses for floral design from March, 28 under the instruction of famous florist, Maurice August, who was in charge of the entire flower decoration at ASEM meeting in Seoul last October. August will also be decorating the upcoming APEC summit in Shanghai, China. The florist began his career 50 year ago in a small flower shop in Wellington, New Zealand but soon applied for professional florist courses. He then, moved to South Africa, where a variety of flowers are available all year around, to build on his career.

Before decorating major international conferences, he was in charge of floral design for the Saudi Arabian royal family. He, even today, visits the market to chose the right kinds of flowers and says that flower markets are the major source of his inspiration in floral design. The florist added that he was impressed by unique flower wrappings in Korea. August will provide four courses during his stay in Seou.l
