Labor Dispute Rates
According to a report released Sunday from the German Economic Institute, the number of days lost due to strike action in Korea from 1990 to 1996 was 166 per 1,000 men, placing the country seventh in the world. The undisputed leader in the report was Spain with 397 days followed by Greece with 372, Turkey 272, Finland 220 and Canada 218. Italy which topped the world in the seventies with 1,511, is now sixth with 198. The US logged 44 days lost, Germany 17, Japan 2 and Switzerland 1.
