One in Four Households Subscribing to a Newspaper Chooses the Chosun Ilbo, which also Tops in the Newsstand Market

An AC Nielsen Korea survey in September showed that slightly more than one in four households subscribing to a newspaper opted for the Chosun Ilbo at 25.1%, followed by "A" with 21.8% and "B," 20%. The remaining seven "major" dailies headquartered in Seoul had a total market share of 14.9%.

The Chosun Ilbo also dominates in sales from newsstands with 26.9% of people purchasing the newspaper, followed by "A" (23.1%) and "B" (19.2%), while others totaled 27%.
